HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

The book is released this month!

Happy New Year, everyone! What an exciting time this is. If you were to look at things in terms of the Gregorian calendar, this is the start of the New Year. However, from a practical perspective, it is Wednesday. What is it that gives us this universal feeling of rebirth and reinvigoration?

Is it that we will now date all our correspondence with a 14 instead of a 13 that changes our feeling? Is it the effect of getting over that New Year’s bash that got a little too wild that gives us this sense of newness? Or, is it that there truly is some strange sort of magic that comes with January 1.

You probably can guess what I think (no, not hangover recovery); there is a special magic to this day. It is a societal, collective consciousness that is palpable in its very essence. We all want an opportunity to start fresh and wipe the proverbial slate clean. The prospect of new adventures awaiting us is something that fills us all with a sense of wonder.

Having said that, I am thrilled about the characters we have assembled to engage you in Necromancers’ Pride – Quest for Elderstone. You see, for each of them, the trials and tribulations they will experience in their upcoming year are as exciting and energizing as those we feel in our day-to-day lives. One who we are especially excited for you to meet is Dolthaia.

We wrote her to allow us to view the world through youthful eyes that have been placed in a difficult situation. Her journey will take her into incredibly dangerous situations, all in order to find answers to the mysteries of her past. We wanted to create a very strong female character, but also one who is given to impetuousness and the other trappings of youth.

Some of you may be thinking, “But she is just a character in a book. How could she compare to my life?”

That is the magic of storytelling. If we write Dolthaia and the rest of these characters with a sincere attention to detail and desire to be true and honest in their portrayals, then the will come to life. They will become so alive, in fact, that readers will cheer their successes, cry at their tragedy and become enraged when they are wronged.

That has been our hope, to create a world peopled by real, tangible beings that you will grow to love, and those that you will love to hate.

January 2014 is here! Join our Dolthaia and the other quest heroes on their adventures, and may their lives enrich yours in the reading!
