Fresh Starts

Today is the day parents rejoice. Today is the day kids revile. Yep, it’s the start of school. As fall greets us in its cooling embrace, shedding the summer heat as the trees begin to shed their foliage, I am reminded of how much newness and rebirth there is around us.

Most people look to the New Year’s celebrations as the beacons of beginnings. I have adopted a different tack, preferring instead to find the fresh starts that are constantly in play around us. Look, we all know that change is the only constant in the world, so why don’t we embrace it? Instead of lamenting what was, why don’t we get excited about what could be? Sure, school means early mornings, homework and responsibilities, but it also means new friends, knowledge and growth. Big things are in the works in the world of Necromancers’ Pride. As the season’s change, I look at this as a fresh start for us. I infuse the energy of the fall into what we are doing, allowing it to propel us to a fantastic end of the year.
