I had a wonderful experience, last night. I was in a room full of brilliant, talented artists. It was an event filled with storytellers: actors, directors and writers. It was an invigorating, energizing experience.
Now, in a room full of great storytellers, sometimes it is hard to get a word in edgewise, but you just have to keep slugging it out! The event was simple: holiday party for an acting class. What I got out of it was so much more than just laughter and fun. What I got was a clearer sense of purpose.
You see, in Los Angeles, there are so many things to do to take your mind off of tasks at hand. Often, dreams and goals can be pushed to the periphery because there are just so many distractions. Being in that room of talented storytellers reinvigorated my mind, body and soul.
Work begets work. Art inspires art. Urgency catalyses change.
Only a couple more hump days to go before 2016 is a wrap. Let us use them to stay on our respective paths, and not allow all the distractions that come with the holidays to keep us from continuing to grow as artists and dreamers.
Thank was my takeaway from last night. Just wanted to share it.
Now, here’s your quote of the day:
Only you can control your future.
~ Dr. Seuss
